PAT now an authorised Riedel Intercom Reseller in New Zealand and Australia

Auckland, New Zealand – Professional Audio & Television announced today that they have been appointed an as authorised Riedel reseller in New Zealand and Australia for Riedel’s Intercom products, such as ARTIST, BOLERO and the full range of SmartPanels. This announcement hasn’t come as a huge surprise, as Professional Audio & Television have already supplied two Riedel Intercom systems to customers in New Zealand over the last couple of weeks.

The first system was a Riedel Bolero Wireless Intercom system delivered to New Zealand company Theatrical Solutions. Theatrical Solutions provide a range of qualified technicians, from electrical and mechanical engineers, fabricators and electronics technicians to software designers and developers, project managers and theatre consultants. They have been involved in projects ranging from the installation of a simple venue curtaining system, through to designing and project managing motorised flying systems, the installation of rigid chain link lift systems, custom fabrication, along with game show control software and display management.

With such complex systems to be installed, tested and implemented by Theatrical Solutions, a reliable and robust comms system was a MUST and a welcome addition to their road kit. Chris Browne from Theatrical Solutions travelled to IBC in Amsterdam to assess all possible options and his final verdict was to go with a Riedel Bolero Wireless Intercom system supplied by Professional Audio and Television.

The Riedel Bolero beltpack uses a combination of premium materials, including high-impact plastics and rubber overmolds, making it both tough and comfortable to use in any situation. Bolero’s sunlight readable and dimmable display can be rotated so that it is readable in any orientation.

The second system was sold to Whakaata Māori (formerly known as Māori Television) after they took the opportunity to review their current technology platform against some of the other options available on the market today. Whakaata Māori were looking for a reliable, flexible, ergonomic and mobile comms system that can deliver high quality audio. After surveying the market, Whakaata Māori ultimately selected a Riedel Bolero Wireless Intercom system from Professional Audio and Television in New Zealand as the preferred Riedel partner in the region.

A Riedel Bolero Wireless Intercom system is capable of supporting up to 250 beltpacks and 100 antennas in a single deployment. Whakaata Māori’s Bolero beltpacks can be used as a wireless beltpack, a wireless keypanel, or – in an industry first – a walkie-talkie. The Bolero low-latency, high-clarity voice codec provides both higher speech intelligibility and more efficient use of RF spectrum, supporting twice the number of beltpacks per antenna for the same radio bandwidth as other DECT-based systems.

Espen Brynildsen, the Technical Solutions Manager for Riedel Communications in Australia says “We are delighted to have been selected by Theatrical Solutions and Whakaata Maori. Partnering with PAT was an easy decision for us, as we needed a local and pro-active partner who is customer focused. PAT have already shown that New Zealand is an expanding market for Riedel and we are looking forward to a long cooperation with the PAT team.”

Mike Heard, the Senior Solutions Architect for PAT says “Riedel’s incredible pre and post-sales support matches the outstanding quality, ease of configuration, setup and operation of their intercom products. Our Sales and Technology teams have all been trained at Riedel in Sydney and are ready to hit the ground running. We are looking forward to servicing the local customers, while growing Riedel’s footprint in the market.”
